Amelia Schubach may be in the early years of her legal career, but that hasn’t stopped her from putting herself forward – and ultimately becoming – the driver for changes to workplace wellness at one of Australia’s biggest law firms.

On this episode of The Protégé Podcast, host Jerome Doraisamy speaks with Amelia Schubach (a finalist in the Wellness Advocate category at the 30 Under 30 Awards 2022) about how she has always been conscious of mental health issues, how she – as a junior lawyer – became the person leading wellness initiatives and activities at BigLaw firm Hamilton Locke, the right ways to go about having those conversations with one’s superiors, and the impacts that her work has had at that firm.

Ms Schubach also reflects on what she has learned about herself, both personally and professionally, from being a driver of such change, how those coming through the ranks can look to influence their workplaces at a time in which workforces are more scattered post-pandemic, whether emerging leaders in law will be the ones who look to spearhead change and move away from traditional thinking, and what she is looking forward to rolling up her sleeves for as her legal career progresses.
